Frequently Asked Questions
-
Where is your office located?
My practice is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The exact address will be shared upon scheduling your initial appointment.
-
Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance directly. However, I am considered an out-of-network provider, and I can provide a monthly superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many PPO plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services.
-
How do I find out if my insurance will reimburse me?
To determine your out-of-network benefits, you can call your insurance company and ask:
- What are my out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health?
- Is there a deductible, and if so, how much has been met?
- What percentage of the session fee is reimbursed?
- How do I submit a superbill? -
What are your fees?
Please contact me directly to discuss current rates. I’m happy to walk you through my fee structure and explore what format (child sessions, parent sessions, school consultation, etc.) may best meet your family’s needs.
-
Do you offer in-home or virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer a mix of in-person, in-home (on the Upper West Side), and virtual sessions, depending on your family’s needs and what feels most supportive. We can discuss what makes the most sense based on your goals.
-
What ages do you work with?
I work with young children (ages 2–10) and their caregivers. I also offer support for parents, school consultation, and professional development for educators and clinicians.
-
Do you offer parent-only support?
Yes. In many cases, parent-only sessions are the most effective way to support a child, especially for younger children or for challenges like anxiety, behavioral concerns, or transitions. I am trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and other evidence-based, parent-led approaches.
-
What types of concerns do you work with?
I support families navigating:
- Anxiety and worries
- Behavioral challenges
- Emotional regulation
- ADHD and executive functioning
- Sleep, routines, and daily transitions
- Family changes (e.g., new siblings, moves, divorce)
- Picky eating
- School-related concerns, including advocacy and adjustment -
Do you collaborate with schools or other providers?
Absolutely. I regularly collaborate with teachers, learning specialists, pediatricians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals involved in your child’s care. I also offer school observations and consultations, and have extensive experience helping schools implement SEL (social-emotional learning) programs and classroom strategies.
-
Do you work with adults?
Yes! While much of my work focuses on children and families, I also see adults. I love working with adults around parenting, identity, life transitions, and emotional well-being. I’m happy to connect and see if we feel like a good fit.
-
What is your therapeutic orientation?
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from several evidence-based modalities to best support each individual or family. I have training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), including specialized training in SPACE for ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). I also have a strong foundation in psychodynamic therapy, which helps me consider the deeper patterns, relationships, and emotional experiences that shape behavior.
In practice, this means I’m always thinking about both what’s happening in the moment and what might be driving it beneath the surface—and tailoring my approach to what works best for you or your child.
